Disinfectants - classification, differences and how to choose

There is an abundance of hand sanitizer gels on the market in Bulgaria, classified mainly in two categories - biocidal products for hygienic hand disinfection and cosmetic products for hand cleaning. The biocidal gels are subject to authorization by the Ministry of Health and must comply with Regulation (EU) 528/2012 and the Law on Protection against Harmful Effects of Chemicals and Mixtures, and the latter must be notified in the European Union Cosmetics Portal and Regulation ( EU) 1223/2009. The former are subject to strict control by the Ministry of Health and in order to be authorized for use and sale it is necessary to submit a technical dossier of the product that must be approved by experts in the Ministry of Health. You can check whether a product is registered as a biocide on the website of the Ministry of Health or check whether its label has a Permit from the Ministry of Health. The danger signs on the label are mandatory and each such product must have an up-to-date Safety Data Sheet.
